What an action-packed and exciting time serving our members last week! CBA’s Kristi Greer kicked off the Executive Channel in Macon, which offered high-level in-person connections with Executive Bankers from across the state. Special thanks to JR Llewellyn, Newcleus; Drew Sterling, The Burke Group; facilitator Corrie Hall, James-Bates-Brannan-Groover; and sponsor Chris Kelly, The Barret School of Banking.
The popular week-long Consumer Lending School, facilitated by CBA’s Becky Soto, took students through the process of consumer lending to develop and advance the skills necessary to administer quality consumer loans.

Bankers, legislators, and associate members came together at The Barn in Albany for the second Town Hall Talk. CBA’s Chief of Staff, EVP, Government and Regulatory Relations Lori Godfrey and CBA’s Connie Shepard facilitated this event.

The CBA of Georgia Swaggin' Wagon rolled into Athens, GA for the UGA Career Center career day at the Classic Center. John McNair, Cassie Cornell and Kristi Greer met 20 plus outstanding students interested in learning more about the community banking industry. A very impressive group for sure! 70% of graduating students return back home after college. The community banking story resonated with all and we (as the community banking industry) MUST do a better job of creating awareness with pending graduates about our sector of the financial services industry!!
To end the week, CBA’s Kristi Greer facilitated the HR & Talent Development R.A.P. Session in Macon which was sponsored by SHAZAM. What’s next on our agenda? Check it out here!

Ron Quinn Elected to Delegate Board for Independent
Community Bankers Association of America (ICBA)
Ron Quinn, President and CEO, Peach State Bank & Trust, Gainesville, has been elected to the Delegate Board for the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA).
Based in Washington, D.C., the ICBA is the primary trade group for community banks in the United States, representing approximately 5,000 small- and mid-sized community banks.
“I believe community banks play a vital role in the areas they serve,” Mr. Quinn said. “Our support of consumers and small businesses spurs economic growth, and now I look forward to serving as an advocate on a national level.”
“Ron is the quintessential example of a community banker. He is dedicated to his community, customers, and his family. Ron was an excellent leader of the CBA of GA as chairman, exhibiting a steady-handed, yet visionary approach during his tenure. He will represent the community banking industry well, and I am grateful for his service in this important role for ICBA,” said John McNair, President & CEO of Community Bankers Association of Georgia.
As a delegate, Quinn will help shape and support ICBA’s national policy positions and programs while serving as a liaison between community banks in Georgia and ICBA’s staff and leadership.
