
CBA's John McNair would like to update all CBA members on recent and upcoming improvements to the Association. This includes CBA's converstion to a VoIP phone system, installation of a new cloud-based virtual desktop computer system on November 18th, and plans to move the CBA office to a new location on December 13th. Georgia’s community bankers do great things in their communities every day. Here is the latest on community outreach and news from CBA Members:
- During Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September, PrimeSouth Bank, Waycross, held their annual Go Gold for Childhood Cancer campaign for employees to raise funds for CURE Childhood Cancer. Pierce, Wayne, and Ware markets also donated to Mattie’s Mission, a non-profit that financially, spiritually, and emotionally assists families affected by childhood cancer. Read more.
- Greater Community Bank, Rome, recently partnered with Calhoun Schools to sponsor the CHS Leadworthy program and provide financial literacy to participating students.
In addition, team members recently participated in the "Strike Out Child Abuse" bowling tournament hosted by the Exchange Club Family Resource Center. - Team members from Signature Bank of Georgia, Sandy Springs, recently read and sorted letters to military servicemen.
- Georgia Community Bank recently held ribbon cutting ceremonies for their locations in Reynolds and Roberta.
- United Community Bank, Blairsville, recently redesigned their website to emphasize the bank’s focus on enhanced digital capabilities. Read more.

Bankers Graduate from CBA's Commercial Lending School in Macon
Last week, community bankers graduated from CBA's Commercial Lending School in Macon. Hosted at James-Bates-Brannan-Groover-LLP, bankers spent 4 days learning the commercial lending process while developing the skills necessary for quality commercial loans administration by utilizing numerous in-class case studies. The school was led by Jeffery Johnson of Bankers Insight Group. Other speakers included Ian Waller of Nichols, Cauley & Associates, LLC, Mark Faas of Point to Point Environmental, Robert Hawkins of Hawkins Consulting, Chris DiLorenzo of The James Paul Group, and Mike Ernst of Stokes Carmichael & Ernst LLP.
