The CBA of Georgia's LEAD Board (Leadership, Education, Advocacy, Development) requested a retreat that would support leadership growth and development. We collaborated with bankers and associate members to make this happen last week on St. Simons Island at the King & Prince Resort. “I am extremely proud of these emerging community bank leaders who are accepting the challenge to increase their knowledge and test their skills. Bankers were fully engaged by participating in exercises to become thought leaders and have a professional voice in our industry,” said Kristi Greer, SVP-Professional Development, CBA of GA.
“The CBA LEAD retreat coupled great leadership training, banking and regulatory discussion, and helped strengthen relationships among my peer bankers across the state. The smaller setting and format allowed more honest discussion and leadership growth that would not have been accessible in a larger conference setting. I feel this retreat and training will be valuable in my continued growth as a community banker and future as a leader,“ said Jason Rooks, Senior Vice President-Commercial Lending Manager, Flint Community Bank, Albany.
“I am so excited about having attended the new LEAD retreat. We were able to have graduates from CBA’s Community Bank Leadership Class, as well as LEAD Board members participate, network and learn effective communication skills for the workplace and for life. The LEAD Board has worked tirelessly to raise awareness and money to go towards P.A.C. (Political Action Committee). We encourage all banks and associate CBA members to help by purchasing this year’s Community Banking T-shirt for your staff. It is a great way to show your commitment to community banking and our agenda to help our industry thrive and succeed,” explained Brian Bazemore, President/CEO, The Citizens Bank of Cochran/Community Bank of Dublin-Laurens County.
Thank you to our effective leadership retreat facilitators, Robert Zondag & Michelle Joseph, WIPFLI; April Farlow; Jim Reber, ICBA Securities; and our very own Lori Godfrey, EVP-Government Relations. CBA of GA wants to continue extending our appreciation to our associate members who sponsored the LEAD Retreat, Abram Armored, Crescent Mortgage, ICBA Securities, FNBB, Genesys Technology Group, James Bates Brannan Groover LLP, Point to Point Environmental, TIB, SHAZAM, and Barret School of Banking.
