On Thursday of last week, CBA’s President/CEO John McNair was honored with an invitation to join Governor Brian Kemp and Senator Kelly Loeffler on a tour of a local small business that received a PPP loan. In his remarks, Governor Kemp recognized both the Community Bankers Association of Georgia and Georgia’s entire community banking industry for the vital role they played in executing PPP loans for over 130,000 Georgia businesses. The next day, Unity National Bank’s Mr. George Andrews and John welcomed both Vice President Mike Pence and Governor Brian Kemp to the bank’s headquarters in downtown Atlanta. Unity National was very active in making PPP loans to several minority owned businesses in the Atlanta market and both the Vice President and Governor met with several key loan recipients and community leaders to discuss the success of the program and ways to make it better.
The Community Bankers Association of Georgia is grateful for the support of the White House, the Trump Administration, Governor Kemp, his administration and Georgia’s congressional delegation. The commitment on behalf of community bankers to serve their local communities is unique and is recognized by these leaders. It was an honor to participate in these meetings last week we appreciate the open communication and overall relationship with all.
