ATM Service & Cash Logistics

The 5,461 insured institutions identified as community banks reported a $508 million (10.5 percent) increase in net income in the fourth quarter. Total loan and lease balances at community banks rose $22.4 billion during the fourth quarter. During the past 12 months, loans and leases at community banks rose $115.7 billion (8.3 percent). Net operating revenue of $23 billion at community banks was $1.6 billion (7.6 percent) higher than in the fourth quarter of 2015. Read more from the FDIC.

FS-ISAC’s latest report for community institutions offers tips on improving vendor management. The weekly risk summary cites a recent FDIC Office of Inspector General report that found financial institutions are not fully considering the potential risk of technology service provider contracts. 2017 Hester Scholarship - A Great Opportunity for Students!
The Community Bankers Association of Georgia continues to offer the Julian & Jan Hester Memorial Scholarship for 2017. The Scholarship is open to Georgia high school seniors who will be entering a Georgia college, university or technical school (two-year program or more) in the fall semester of 2017. The scholarship honors the memories of the late Jan Hester, daughter of Lalia and the late Julian Hester, long-time CEO of the CBA. The four winning recipients will each be awarded a $1,000 scholarship. Applications should be returned to the bank no later than Monday, April 3, 2017. All completed applications should be submitted to CBA no later than Monday, April 10, 2017. Only complete applications will be eligible. Winners will be announced in late April 2017.
