DEPARTMENT | ROLE DESCRIPTION:
The Training and Development Manager (TDM) is responsible for creating a remarkable learning and development experience for new and current team members.  The TDM will be responsible for leading and managing bankwide team member training which includes planning, coordinating, promoting, identifying, developing and delivering training activities and programs to support team member performance, development and customer service.  The TDM is responsible for preparing, scheduling and implementing a variety of training programs.  The TDM will administer programs either by personally conducting training sessions or by partnering with internal and/or external subject matter experts.  The TDM will be responsible for implementing a training calendar to ensure timely communication and participation in available and required training programs.  The TDM will maintain records of performance and progress of those in training and prepare or coordinate the preparation of the training or procedural materials used.  The TDM is responsible for preparing and maintaining training manuals for a variety of areas.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO):
  • Coordinate and conduct orientation and training classes for new hires and current team members.
  • Create, implement and maintain a training calendar for the bank.
  • Partner with subject matter experts (internal and external) and bank managers to identify training needs and develop effective educational material, content, and programs.
  • Conduct follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure training outcomes.
  • Manage department training budget and allocate resources accordingly.
  • Assess bank training spending and evaluate opportunities for efficiencies.
  • Partner with CHRO to administer development plans, succession plans, performance management, and other HR initiatives.
  • Create and maintain training manuals in various areas of the bank, as needed.
  • Manage the bank’s learning management system.
  • Evaluate annual required training courses with input from others and assign courses accordingly.
  • Create training agendas when necessary and coordinate trainers accordingly.
  • Maintain records and documentation of internal and external training classes attended by team member for regulatory reporting.
  • Maintain high standard of training quality by attending training classes from time-to-time to assess content and facilitator.
  • Conduct seminars, workshops, and train-the-trainer programs.
  • Administer surveys to garner feedback regarding training or other bank topics.
  • Coordinate with and utilize external training programs and products as needed.
  • Order and maintain supplies for orientation and training classes.
  • Make recommendations on training and development resources and/or technology needed to improve effectiveness of training and development efforts to achieve bank objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Available to travel to other bank locations as needed.
  • Flexible work hours to accommodate team members work schedules for training.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE | QUALIFICATIONS:
 
MINIMUM YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
  • 3-5 years
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education or learning field or relevant years of experience implementing training and development solutions
  • Ability to effectively consult with team members across all levels of the bank
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including facilitation skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Financial Services industry experience preferred
  • CPTD Certification preferred
  • PHR or SHRM-CP Certification preferred
  • Previous technical writing of manuals, policies and procedures preferred
COMPUTER / SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • MS Office
  • Learning Management System Software experience
  • Silverlake and/or Jack Henry experience preferred
