ABOUT OUR INSTRUCTORS: 

Laura Sharp is a Senior Manager in Risk Advisory at PYA specializing in financial institution services. With more than 10 years of experience, she provides outsourced internal audit services to banks, focusing on regulatory compliance, Bank Secrecy Act/AML audits, internal controls over financial reporting, loan reviews, and operational risk testing. She also assists with financial statement audits.

Laura has extensive knowledge of financial institution regulations and supports clients with risk assessments and the design and implementation of internal control policies. She holds a B.S. in Accounting from Carson-Newman University and is actively involved in professional and community organizations, including the Institute of Internal Auditors East Tennessee Chapter, the Tennessee Society of CPAs, and the Tennessee Bankers Association.


Erika Walker
brings more than 20 years of experience in audit and information technology security, helping organizations translate complex risk and security challenges into practical, transformative strategies. She is a trusted advisor to clients across industries, with deep expertise in ISO certification, SOC reporting, identity and access management, security operations, financial and IT audits, and enterprise risk assessments.

Erika has led large, multidisciplinary technology teams, directed successful ISO 27001 certifications across U.S. and international locations, and overseen implementations of leading solutions for vulnerability management, multi-factor authentication, privileged access, and application control. She is known for her ability to bridge technical and business audiences, clearly communicate audit and risk results to executives, boards, and regulators, and drive adoption of secure, scalable technologies.


Andrew Sizemore
is a recognized leader in audit and assurance services, supporting organizations across the healthcare, financial institutions, communications, transportation, and manufacturing sectors. He delivers comprehensive audit, risk, and advisory solutions that enhance transparency, strengthen compliance, and improve operational performance. Andrew is known for cultivating trusted relationships and providing clear, practical insight that drives long-term success.

His expertise spans internal audit methodology aligned with IIA Global Standards, regulatory and IT compliance, internal control frameworks, SOX readiness, SOC reporting, and enterprise risk management. Andrew has served as an outsourced chief audit executive, led large-scale SOX programs for multinational organizations, coordinated internal assurance functions to maximize coverage with minimal disruption, and directed enterprise fraud risk assessments that resulted in meaningful control improvements.
