American Banker Highlights New Bank Planned for North Atlanta Suburbs

CBA Today eNewsletter,

American Banker recently featured the launch of Georgia Skyline Bank, a new community bank planned for Roswell and Alpharetta, marking one of the first de novo openings in North Fulton County in more than a decade.

Led by veteran banker Ryan Floyd, the group plans to raise $35 million in startup capital with hopes to open by February 2026. The article notes that Floyd and his team see strong opportunity in an area where local community banks have dwindled—from nearly 340 in 2010 to fewer than 140 today. Georgia Skyline aims to serve small and mid-sized businesses with responsive, relationship-based lending and quick decision-making. The bank’s partnership with Colony Bancorp will help expand lending capacity and level the playing field with larger institutions.

CBA President & CEO John McNair commented, “The Georgia economy is one of the best in the country and it is great to see capital coming back into new bank formations in the Peach State. Some of the rules have changed to make it easier and the myriad of technology solutions available contribute greatly to the ability of start-ups to achieve profitability in shorter time periods than before. Congrats to Ryan Floyd and team for the great work here!”
