Beyond the Bank – Commissioner Hagler’s Dual Passions

CBA Today eNewsletter,

When he’s not guiding Georgia’s financial industry, Georgia Department of Banking & Finance Commissioner Kevin Hagler can often be found at the racetrack. A longtime car enthusiast, he is active in the BMW Car Club of America and teaches performance driving as well as safe-driving skills for teens through the Tire Rack Street Survival program. His passion for mentoring drivers mirrors his leadership philosophy—building confidence, competence, and community.

As he prepares to retire at the end of August, Hagler reflects on a career marked by precision, performance, and public service. For more than a decade, he has led the DBF, working alongside a dedicated team of examiners to ensure the safety and soundness of Georgia’s state-chartered banks, credit unions, and non-depository institutions.

Hagler says the camaraderie he’s experienced in the car club parallels what he values most in banking: “It all comes back to relationships and personal growth.”

CBA extends our gratitude to Commissioner Hagler for his leadership and service to Georgia’s community banking industry and wishes him well in retirement.
