CBA welcomed bankers, sponsors, and industry partners to CONNECT 2026, held September 23-27 at The Omni Grove Park Inn, Asheville. Set against the spectacular backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains, The Grove Park Inn provided an inspiring setting for this year's convention. With its iconic mountain views and historic character, the resort offered the perfect environment for education, advocacy, innovation, and tradition.

The convention kicked off Thursday with an engaging keynote from Jack Stahlmann, whose humor and energy challenged attendees to rethink traditional approaches to employee retention and workplace culture. The morning continued with thought-provoking sessions on practical applications of artificial intelligence in banking, a microeconomic outlook, and the annual CBA Business Meeting.

That afternoon, attendees had the opportunity to experience the grandeur of The Biltmore Estate, America's largest privately owned home. The day concluded back at the Inn with a beautiful sunset reception, offering time to reconnect with colleagues and enjoy the mountain scenery.

Friday's agenda focused on one of CBA's core priorities: Advocacy. Attendees gained valuable insights from regulators and heard a national perspective on issues affecting community banks from ICBA. Georgia political strategists Brian Robinson and Tharon Johnson brought their signature blend of expertise and friendly banter, offering updates from both sides of the political landscape.

Friday evening brought attendees and guests together for a lively dueling piano performance and one of the convention's favorite traditions, the Silent Auction. Thanks to the generosity of participants, nearly $10,000 was raised to support CBA's advocacy efforts on behalf of community banks across Georgia.

The exhibit booths remained a popular destination throughout the week, showcasing innovative products, services, and solutions from CBA's trusted network of Associate Members and sponsors. Whether discovering new technologies, discussing operational efficiencies, or exploring strategic partnerships, attendees benefited from meaningful interactions with the companies that support the success of community banking.

Saturday delivered another full day of learning and inspiration, featuring an engaging fireside chat, practical guidance for AI implementation, and an informative discussion on what bank leaders need to know about digital assets. Closing keynote speaker Elle Benson energized attendees with insights into the science of happiness and the power of novel experiences to build stronger, more engaged teams.

The convention officially concluded with the installation of CBA's incoming board members. As one leadership team passed the torch to the next, attendees were reminded of the dedication and vision that continue to guide Georgia's community banking industry forward.

The week wrapped on a high note at the Bankers & Bulldogs Tailgate Bash, where attendees enjoyed an afternoon of fellowship, outstanding tailgate fare, displays from talented local artisans, and a commanding 41-13 Georgia victory over Oklahoma.

CBA extends its sincere appreciation to everyone who attended, exhibited, sponsored, and supported CONNECT 2026. Your participation makes this event one of the association's most valued traditions. Together, we are building stronger banks, stronger communities, and a stronger future for community banking in Georgia.
