Internal Auditors RAP Session Delivers Practical Takeaways

CBA Today eNewsletter,

The 2026 Internal Auditors RAP Session & Forum, held last week in Macon, brought together internal audit professionals from community banks across Georgia for a valuable day of learning, collaboration, and peer networking.

A special thank you to PYA for sponsoring this outstanding program and serving as instructors for the day. Attendees participated in informative and engaging discussions covering effective risk assessments and audit planning, regulatory trends, IT risk and cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, vendor management, fraud prevention and detection, and compliance audits.

Thank you to presenters Andrew Sizemore, Senior Manager of Risk Advisory, and Erika Walker, Manager of Audit and Assurance Services, for sharing their expertise and facilitating an excellent program. We also extend our appreciation to Laura Sharp, Senior Manager of Risk Advisory, who was unable to attend but played an important role in preparing materials and content in advance of the session.

The program provided participants with actionable takeaways, opportunities to benchmark practices with peers, and meaningful discussions around the evolving role of internal audit within community banking.
