 CBA was honored to participate in the road naming ceremony for Henry Jackson Pope, Jr., a respected banker, civic leader, and former CBA board member. The Development Authority of the City of Milledgeville–Baldwin County dedicated “Henry Pope Way” at the Milledgeville-Baldwin County Industrial Park to commemorate his decades of service and leadership. Pope began his career at Exchange Bank in 1972 as a courier, eventually becoming President and CEO by 2002, a position he held until his passing in 2019. He played a pivotal role in local economic development, helping recruit industries and complete vital building projects. His legacy of community commitment and visionary leadership lives on through this permanent tribute. At the ceremony, his family— Jonathan, Kevin, and Helen Pope shared remarks, celebrating the profound impact Henry had on Milledgeville and beyond. Jonathan Pope serves on Chair of the CBA LEAD Board and also serves on CBA’s Board of Directors.
