Nancy Jernigan, CBA Board:
With an impressive 43-year career in banking, Nancy Jernigan of First Port City Bank has made a meaningful and lasting impact on her community. Under her leadership, the bank has supported several cornerstone projects focused on downtown revitalization. By providing key loans for the renovation of older, long-neglected buildings, Nancy has helped transform these spaces into vibrant mixed-use developments featuring retail, dining, and much-needed housing. As a result, the community has enjoyed increased access to new restaurants, entertainment options, and shopping experiences, along with a rise in tourism that has brought fresh energy to the downtown area. Nancy’s commitment to community extends far beyond her professional role. She actively serves on the Economic Development Board of Directors and holds leadership positions with multiple local organizations, including Chairman of the Seminole County Library Board of Directors and Vice Chairman of the Southwest Georgia Regional Library Board of Directors. She also contributes her time and expertise to the Friendship Methodist Church Finance Committee and the Donalsonville Lions Club, reinforcing her dedication to service and civic engagement. At the heart of Nancy’s professional passion is her belief in the flexibility and personalized service that define community banking. Angie Kahrmann, CBA Board:
With 17 years of banking experience, Angie Kahrmann of State Bank of Cochran has played a meaningful role in supporting growth throughout her community. One of the bank’s most impactful recent contributions has been financing several phases of a new apartment complex in Dublin. This development is helping meet the rising demand for housing as new companies, including those connected to the Hyundai facility in Bryan County, bring talent into the region. From young professionals starting their careers to families relocating for new opportunities, the project is fueling local economic momentum and strengthening the community’s foundation for long-term growth. Angie also remains grounded through her involvement with Pine Forest Methodist Church, where she invests her time and energy into community fellowship. Her passion for banking comes from the everyday moments when she can directly help her neighbors, whether helping a restaurant owner purchase the building she once leased, supporting farmers who need essential equipment during planting season, or celebrating with customers as they drive away in their new cars. For Angie, these experiences reflect the heart of community banking: building relationships and empowering people to thrive. Outside of work, Angie treasures time with her husband, Shaun, their son, Josh, and their new puppy, Georgia. With Josh away at college, evening walks with Georgia have become a favorite way to unwind. Weekends are spent cheering on the Dawgs and the Braves, and the family enjoys relaxing together while watching golf. Whether at the bank, at church, or at home, Angie brings dedication, joy, and a genuine love for her community into everything she does. |
