Pineland Bank is looking for a Commercial Lender for its north Florida market
Position Purpose:
A Commercial Lender is responsible for developing, managing, and expanding a portfolio of commercial loan and deposit relationships. This role focuses on business development within the community, credit analysis, and delivering tailored financial solutions to meet customer needs while ensuring compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
Essential Functions and Basic Duties:
- Develop new commercial lending relationships through active business development, networking, and community involvement
- Manage an assigned portfolio of commercial clients, including ongoing service, renewals, and risk monitoring
- Analyze borrower financial statements, cash flow, collateral, and creditworthiness to structure appropriate loan terms
- Prepare loan presentations and recommendations for approval in accordance with bank lending policies
- Maintain strong knowledge of the local market, including economic trends and competitive landscape
- Cross-sell bank products and services, including deposit accounts, treasury management, and other financial solutions
- Ensure each credit relationship is properly documented, risk-rated, and monitored for performance
- Proactively identify and manage problem loans, working with management on resolution strategies
- Maintain frequent contact with customers to strengthen relationships and identify additional opportunities
- Participate in community and civic activities to promote the bank’s presence and generate new business
- Ensure compliance with all applicable banking laws, regulations, and internal policies
- Collaborate with credit administration, loan operations, and other internal departments to ensure efficient loan processing and servicing
- Provide a high level of customer service consistent with the bank’s relationship-based approach
- Lead by example with excellent customer service skills and quality
- Complies with all bank and personnel policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field preferred
Experience:
- 3–7 years of experience in commercial lending, credit analysis, or related banking role
- Experience in a community bank or relationship-based lending environment preferred
Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of commercial lending principles and underwriting
- Knowledge of financial statement analysis, cash flow analysis, and loan structuring
- Familiarity with banking regulations and compliance standards
- Working knowledge of bank products and services
