Georgia Legislative Session Kicks Off Next Week — CBA is Ready to Advocate for YOU

The Georgia General Assembly convenes on January 12, and the Community Bankers Association of Georgia is once again prepared to advocate on behalf of the state’s community banking industry. Led by CBA’s COO and Chief Lobbyist, Lori Godfrey, with the support of President & CEO John McNair, and in partnership with Fiveash-Stanley, CBA enters the 2026 legislative session well positioned to elevate the priorities and concerns of community banks with legislators and key administration officials.
This year’s session is expected to present both challenges and opportunities for community banks across Georgia. Now, more than ever, community bankers and industry supporters must remain engaged in the advocacy process. CBA provides multiple ways for members to stay involved and connected, including Town Hall Talks, Clay Shoots, the ICBA Capital Summit, Day at the Braves, and Topgolf outings.
Advocacy remains central to CBA’s mission, and we are proud to serve as the unified voice for Georgia’s community banks. By working together, we can help shape policies that support a strong, vibrant community banking industry—now and for generations to come.
The CBA Advocacy Update is published every Friday throughout the legislative session. To subscribe, please email cba@cbaofga.com.
