Honoring Charlie Curry, Community Banking and Advocacy
2026 Charlie Curry Memorial Clay Shoot
A new venue hosted CBA and the Charlie Curry Memorial Clay Shoot Tournament on October 8. Bankers and associate members gathered at Fieldstone Hunting Preserve in Dry Branch for a day dedicated to fellowship, friendly competition, and supporting community banking advocacy efforts.
The annual event honors former CBA Chair Charlie Curry of First State Bank of Randolph County in Cuthbert, whose passion for the outdoors and unwavering commitment to community banking left a lasting impact on the association. An avid sportsman, Charlie was a longtime supporter of CBA’s advocacy fundraising events, and his legacy continues through this tournament.
Participants enjoyed the new venue, excellent camaraderie, and spirited competition, all while helping advance CBA’s advocacy mission.
“It's always rewarding to see bankers and industry partners come together for such an important cause,” said Lori Godfrey, COO/Government & Regulatory Relations at CBA. “The support generated through this event strengthens our ability to advocate on behalf of Georgia’s community banks and ensures their voices continue to be heard where it matters most.”
Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, participants, and supporters, the event was another successful reminder of the strong partnerships and shared commitment that make Georgia’s community banking community so special.
Congratulations to this year’s winners!
