Southeastern Bank, Darien, sponsored  Anchor Up, McIntosh County Industrial Development Authority’s sixth-grade mentoring program at McIntosh Middle School. The Anchor Up program is centered around developing and practicing essential soft skills to help mentees advance in their education and beyond. Banking Officer Melissa Smith, presented the sponsorship check to Colette Fried, Business Development Director at the Development Authority.
For Community Banking Month, each department at Exchange Bank, Milledgeville, was given $500 to give back in a way that meant something to them. The Loan Department chose to support three local organizations, one being Walking with Moms through Sacred Heart Church in Milledgeville. The team collected and donated items to help support their mission. The soon-to-open Braselton branch partnered with the Athens Community Council on Aging for March for Meals, delivering meals to local seniors and spending time with neighbors who mean so much to the community. Watch for other departments’ contributions in next week’s enews.
Geneva Wright, First National Bank of Waynesboro, visited Ms. Lewis’s 2nd grade class at Waynesboro Primary School for Real Women Read where she read "The Cool Bean" with the students.
Century Bank & Trust, Milledgeville, hosted the Youth Leadership Baldwin Class of 2026 for lunch where they talked through the essentials of personal finance, the value of community banking, and what to expect when navigating that first year of college.
The Bank of Alapaha is supporting the Summer Literacy Program at the Carrie Dorsey Perry Memorial Library in Nashville.
Planters First Bank, Hawkinsville donated stress balls to the Pulaski County Senior Center for their clients.
