Position Summary:

Moultrie Bank & Trust is seeking a Senior Operations Officer. This position is a full-time, on-site role based in Moultrie, Georgia. This individual is responsible for directing and overseeing the bank's operational functions to ensure efficient, accurate, and compliant delivery of banking services. This position provides leadership for deposit and loan operations, payment systems, treasury management support, electronic banking, operational risk management, and process improvement initiatives. The role partners closely with executive leadership, lending, accounting, information technology, and compliance to support strategic objectives while maintaining exceptional service to customers.

Essential Responsibilities:

Operations Management

• Direct the daily operations of the bank's operations department.
• Oversee deposit operations, loan operations, account services, wire transfers, ACH processing, check processing, debit card services, and electronic banking.
• Ensure operational workflows are efficient, accurate, and meet established service standards.
• Monitor operational performance metrics and implement improvements.

Compliance and Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with all applicable banking laws, regulations, and internal policies.
• Coordinate internal, external, and regulatory examinations and audits.
• Maintain strong internal controls to minimize operational risk and fraud.
• Review operational exceptions and oversee timely resolution.

Leadership

• Supervise, coach, and develop operations staff.
• Establish departmental goals and evaluate employee performance.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Provide operational guidance to branch managers and other departments.

Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through automation and workflow redesign.
• Develop and update operational policies and procedures.
• Lead or participate in system conversions and technology implementations.
• Evaluate vendors and recommend operational enhancements.

Customer Service

• Resolve complex operational issues affecting customers.
• Support treasury management and cash management services.
• Ensure high-quality service delivery across all operational areas.
Strategic Support
• Participate in strategic planning initiatives.
• Assist executive management with operational budgeting and resource planning.
• Collaborate with Accounting, Lending, Information Technology, Retail Banking, and Compliance on cross-functional initiatives.

Qualifications:

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
Experience
• 8–10+ years of banking operations experience.
• 3–5+ years of management or supervisory experience.
• Community banking experience strongly preferred.
