Brian Bazemore, CBA Board:

With 29 years of banking experience, Brian Bazemore of The Citizens Bank of Cochran has built a career centered on strengthening the economic vitality of his community. One of the most impactful ways Brian supports local growth is through small business lending. By offering flexible loan options that larger institutions often cannot provide, he helps entrepreneurs expand their operations, hire locally, and drive long-term economic development. The bank’s commitment to responsiveness also sets it apart—holding Board meetings twice a month ensures customer requests are reviewed quickly, allowing loans to be approved faster than many competitors and enabling businesses to move forward without delay.

Brian’s dedication extends well beyond the walls of the bank. He remains actively involved in several community-focused organizations, including the Dublin Civitan Club, the Dublin Board of Realtors, and the Dublin-Laurens Chamber of Commerce. His participation in these groups reflects his belief in contributing to the place he serves, fostering collaborative efforts that strengthen the region as a whole.

At the heart of Brian’s work is a passion for building personal relationships and supporting the local economy through community-focused decision-making. He values long-term connections with customers and takes pride in offering local solutions that make a meaningful difference in their lives and businesses.

Brian’s commitment to service is rooted in family influence. As an only child of two retired parents, his mother, a music instructor, and his father, who worked as both a banker and a State Farm insurance agent, he gained an early appreciation for hard work and purposeful careers. Outside of banking, he enjoys spending time outdoors, especially bird hunting, fishing, and being on the water, as well as making memories with his two dogs, Pepper and Hershey.

Jeff McGhee, CBA Board:

With 19 years of experience in banking, Jeff McGhee of The Merchants & Citizens Bank continues to play a vital role in advancing both customer service and community security. Under his leadership, the bank has implemented several modern banking tools, including mobile banking and remote deposit, enhancing convenience for customers and allowing them to manage their finances anytime, anywhere. Jeff is also helping guide the early stages of an automated BSA platform with built-in check fraud detection, an important investment that will strengthen fraud prevention efforts and provide customers with quicker alerts and added peace of mind.

Beyond his professional role, Jeff is deeply engaged in the McRae community. He is an active member of First Baptist Church, where he serves as a deacon and alternate Sunday School teacher. He is also a committed member of the McRae Rotary Club, having served in various leadership positions, including President. His involvement reflects a genuine dedication to service and to supporting the organizations that help the community thrive.

Jeff’s passion lies in helping people achieve meaningful milestones, whether it’s buying their first home, purchasing a new vehicle, or launching a small business. His deep roots in the community allow him to truly understand the needs, goals, and challenges of local residents. As a community banker who lives, works, and invests in the same place his customers do, Jeff brings insight and care to every relationship.

Family remains at the heart of Jeff’s life. He and his wife, Angelyn, have been married for 31 years and are the proud parents of three children and grandparents to two. In their free time, they enjoy traveling, dining out, and spending quality time with their growing family.
