McNair Family Scholarship - Supporting Community Bankers Pursuing Higher Education

Applications are now open for the 2026 McNair Family Scholarship, a $1,000 award designed to help community bank employees pursue higher education while continuing to work.

The scholarship honors the achievements and perseverance of Nicholas (Nick) R. Cimino, who balanced work, family, and education on his own journey to earning a bachelor’s degree.

The McNair Family Scholarship is awarded annually to an adult learner currently employed at a Georgia community bank. Eligible applicants must be at least two years removed from high school, work a minimum of 25 hours per week, and be pursuing an associate, bachelor’s, or trade degree.
